Design your own expedition easily by renting
canoes for trips of varying distances. In
Warren, visit Allegheny Outfitters downtown
on Pennsylvania Avenue or their original livery
service in Tidioute at Allegheny Indian
Waters. Indian Waters offers one, two, and
three day trips ranging from 5 to 45 miles of
canoeing, several starting right here at the
dam.
Downstream in Tionesta three canoe services
offer reasonable rates. Outback Adventures
and Eagle Rock Canoe and Kayak Rental
offer transportation to Big Bend at the dam for
overnight trips. Also check out Allegheny

Farther downstream in Franklin a new service,
Outdoor Allegheny River Services (or
O.A.R.S.) will get you from there to Emlenton in
style. They also have info on French Creek.

The U.S. Congress has designated an
85-mile stretch of the Allegheny-- from
Kinzua Dam to Warren and from the
Buckaloons Recreation Area to Tionesta--
as a "Recreation Waterway" under The
Federal Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.
